The Ember journey started many years ago with our son Lincoln, who began experiencing severe health challenges from an early age. At just four months old, Lincoln started having seizures. He was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome at the age of two, after enduring seizures since he was an infant. Over the years, this diagnosis has led to various other health issues and co-morbidities, including autism. Lincoln requires feeding through a PEG and faces significant developmental delays in all areas.
For the past 10 years, we have been personally navigating the complexities of the health system, and for about 8 years, we’ve been managing his needs through the NDIS.

From our experiences, we’ve gained extensive knowledge of disabilities, the NDIS, and the health system, and have become adept at advocating for our child’s needs. Our empathy for those unable to advocate for themselves inspired the creation of Ember, designed to help families access the necessary supports for their loved ones.
Our own challenges in securing appropriate support have motivated us to simplify the process for families like yours, ensuring that everyone receives the right kind of help.
As parents of four children, we understand the importance of supporting the entire family to lead as normal a life as possible. We bring personal experience, a deep understanding of the NDIS, and a passion for helping others navigate the system to our work.

Let’s achieve your goals through NDIS support
Everyone has unique needs and aspirations. The NDIS tailors individual plans for each participant, offering choice and control over the services they select and their providers. Plans are reviewed annually to ensure that goals are being met and needs are addressed, which influences the support funding for the subsequent plan.
Funding levels are determined based on what is deemed ‘reasonable’ and ‘necessary’ for participants to reach their goals. The support provided by friends, family, and other government programs is also considered. Accordingly, NDIS funding is allocated into distinct budgets, with approved amounts varying for each participant.
